God’s Word has survived for centuries despite all efforts at elimination. It’s the way, TRUTH and LIFE to those who find It! God watches over His work to perform it – Jer 1:12. God’s Word will word for you IF YOU BELIEVE IT. However, it takes some effort to locate God’s Bible Promises – then adapt them to your situations.
. . . this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ASK anything according to His WILL, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ASK, we know that we have the petitions that we have ASKED of Him.” – 1st John 5:14-15
What is God’s Will? Just Ask for Answered Prayers
Let’s approach this passage with common sense. What is God’s WILL? Think about it! Is it His WILL that anyone gets sick or injured? Does that sound like a loving God to you? NO!
Remember how Jesus taught the disciples to pray in Matthew, Chapter 6? Starting with verse 9. Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us . . . Stop! These are not just words! They’re truth and life! Look what it says:
“Thy WILL be done (where?) on Earth as it is (where?) in Heaven.
Jesus who never, ever made a mistake, said “Thy WILL be done on Earth as it is in Heaven!”
So, what’s God’s WILL? Is there any sickness, disease, death, misery, poverty, sadness in Heaven? No, no, NO!! If it’s not in Heaven, it’s not God’s WILL for it to be on Earth! Wouldn’t you agree?
You might say, well . . times change. But God says: For I am the Lord, I do not change – Malachi 3:6 Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever – Hebrews 13:8. God’s Word is God’s WILL! It never has changed since the beginning of time! So, it’s not God’s WILL for anyone to be sick! Period!!!!
But you say “I’m really sick. Help me!” Well, we live in a messed up world. That’s why we get sick, poor, etc. God understood, so allowed all your sin and sickness to be transferred to Jesus. He was wounded for the wrong things we did . . . The punishment was given to Him. And we are healed because of His wounds – Isaiah 53:4-6. His Word – not people’s opinions – HEALS us.
In John 1:1-14 Jesus is called the Word! Angry men (inspired by Satan) killed Jesus. Satan (through man) continues to try to eliminate the Bible, the Word and His healing Word from our lives.
Look again: Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us. (Caution: What we ask for – must line up with God’s Word. It’s OK to ask for a new house; not OK to ask to marry a friend’s husband.) Do you have any doubts that God through Jesus will give you what you ask for? You shouldn’t! He died for you, paying the ultimate price.
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ASK anything according to His Will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ASK, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.– 1st John 5:14-15
Ask And You Shall Receive Answered Prayers
Have you asked God to heal you? Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened – Matthew 7:7-8. Those verses are in the same speech as the “The Lord’s Prayer,” the Sermon on the Mount!
When speaking to God, Jesus’ name allows you to be heard. So finish the prayer with “In the name of Jesus!” (He died for you! He is the door opener!) John 14:13-14; And whatever you ask IN MY NAME, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name I WILL do it! John 15:16. . . that whatever you ask the Father IN MY NAME He may give you. – John 16:24 Until now you have asked nothing IN MY NAME. Ask, and you WILL receive, that your joy may be Full.
That’s great news for us all! Ask and you’ll receive. That your joy will be full!
