What God did for Others, He’ll do for You!
As a Christian life can really get discouraging especially since we know all things are possible for those who love the Lord. But it seems no matter what we try, we’re stuck. When you’re up against what seems like an unattainable situation (“impossible opportunity”) that’s when we need to be encouraged with the 7700 promises in God’s Word. When we do our part, He’ll do His.
1- 185,000 crack Assyrian troops surrounded Jerusalem ready to attack. Hezekiah had everyone pray and fast. The next morning they awakened only to find ALL the Assyrian troops DEAD – Isaiah 36-37.
2- The ship Paul was prisoner aboard was breaking up with everyone about to die. God delivered them ALL from certain death – Acts 27.
3- Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were thrown into a super-heated fiery furnace, but they walked out not even smelling like smoke – Daniel 3.
4- When faced with attack by 3 different armies, King Jehoshaphat and Judah prayed and praised God. The result was the 3 armies destroyed each other – 2 Chronicles 20.
5- Moses and the families of Jacob (Israel) were being chased by the Egypt’s crack army. God parted the Red Sea, allowing the Israelites to escape, but drowning the pursuing army – Exodus 12-14.
6- When Haman plotted to kill all the Israelites while they were slaves, God saved them with Esther, one (1) simple orphaned girl – Book of Esther.
Now: “That’s my God! What He did for them, He’ll do for me!”
7- After saving the lives of the wise men, Daniel was plotted against and got thrown in the Lion’s Den, but God shut the their mouths and he went unharmed – Daniel 2, 6.
8- A highly venomous snake bit Paul while on Malta. But he suffered no harm – Acts 28.
9- After all his victories, King David was pursued by his friends and Absalom, his own son’s army. God delivered him and returned everything to him – 2 Samuel 15-24.
Say: “That’s my God! What He did for him, He’ll do for me!”
Remember: If you’re about God’s business, He’ll be about your business. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He SHALL direct your paths. – Proverbs 3: 5-6
Here’s an example from current life:
At a recent soccer practice, a big boy approached our 5-year-old grandson and took his ball away. He said, “I have your ball and I’m bigger than you, so what are you going to do about that?” Our grandson declared, “I’m not afraid of YOU, because I have God on the INSIDE of me and he’s bigger than ANYBODY. So what are you going to do about that?” The kid just gave him his ball back. (What he was effective because he really KNEW the GREATER ONE lives on the inside of Him. So He wasn’t afraid!)
So, what are you speaking out of your mouth? Remember, Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. – Proverbs 18:21. We need to have the faith of a child. Don’t gaze at your problem and glance at God. Instead, glance at the problem and gaze at your God. The reality will hit you – God IS bigger!
So as you go through your daily life facing seemingly impossible opportunities, seek God; speak the Word over your problem; watch your words; and acknowledge the power of God in your life by saying, “That’s MY God! What He did for others, He’ll do for me!”
