Replace Discouraged or Distracted from Satan with God’s Words!
Years ago, my kids wanted video games. So, we got Tetris. Heck, it was FREE! Various shapes descend toward the bottom of the screen. We were to fill up entire rows with 5 random shapes to eliminate those rows and keep the game going. When all the rows were blocked, we’d lose the game! The better we did – the faster shapes descended until we’d lose. Although we’d put our entire heart, mind and will into the game at the cost of everything around us, We’d Always Lose! I became so obsessed with these little shapes, everything I saw took on one of these image shapes.
I realized this game was taking over our minds and lives! It distracted us from all else. Hours were wasted on this game! Even more time would be lost, as our brains converted all images to look like these shapes.
As a substitute teacher I’ve also noticed how students play video games during class and be completely distracted. They waste precious learning time on games with $0 redeeming value. Handwriting, reading and vocabulary skills suffer! I heard a teacher say, “By letting children take video games to school, do parents hate their children?” By trying to give kids a great present, it actually stunts their life skill growth!
Notice how fables like Frosty, the Snowman; the Grinch; and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer replace the most important event in human history – the birth of Jesus Christ? God sent Him to restore his relationship with us. Few stores acknowledge Christmas – but distract with sales and fancy decorations! Question: At Christmas are you distracted?
Satan – a “DIS” kind of Being
Let me elaborate. He Distracts and Discourages, He puts Disease on people. He creates Discord and Disappointment. His followers are Disagreeable. Another Question: What has the Devil done for you lately?
When arguing, doesn’t discord rein supreme? When you get sick are you “at ease” or diseased? God wants to encourage you to do and be your best while Satan causes discourage-ment and disappoint-ment. Satan dis-courages your mind with Fear, Poverty and Pride. But, GOD encourages you with Faith, Hope, Wealth and Love. Yes, You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you – Philippians 4:13.
Why not replace the DIS (Satan & his fallen-angel henchmen, called demons) words with God’s Wonderful words!

Distracts Focus (Gives Attention)
Discord Peace
Disappointment Appointment
Destroys Builds
Disagreeable Agree-able
Pride Humble
Disparage Hope
You no longer need to be Distracted or Discouraged
Here’s what God says to you: For I know the thoughts and plans I think and have for you says the Lord. Thoughts and plans for peace and not of evil – to give you a future and a hope! Then you will call upon Me go and pray to Me and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for me with all your heart! I will be found by you, says the Lord . . . Jeremiah 29:11-14a
Yes, Satan Distracts and Discourages. He Subtracts and Divides while God – Adds and Multiplies. So concentrate on the Giver of Life. He’ll build you up to help you succeed in this very negative world dominated by Satan.Photo by symphony of love
