Exact Description of Jesus in the Old Testament is no Accident

I used to think God invented Christ to return sinners to His good graces. But I learned Christ is described throughout the Bible hundreds of years before His birth. Unmistakable evidence Jesus has been with God from the beginning.. In the beginning “Elohim’ (Genesis 1:1). “Elohim” (translated God) is plural – NOT SINGULAR!  Ask any Jew, but don’t expect an explanation. The Godhead (1 God) actually has 3 parts.

Isaiah 11:1-10  – Prophecy of the Coming Savior

There SHALL come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, The Spirit of counsel and might, and The Spirit of KNOWLEDGE and of the fear of the Lord. . . Who shall stand as a banner to the people; FOR THE GENTILES SHALL SEEK HIM, And His resting place shall be glorious.

Zechariah 9:9 Triumphal Entry

. . . Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.

Malachi 3:1 John the Baptist

Behold I send MY MESSENGER, and he will prepare the way before ME, And the Lord, WHOM YOU SEEK will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. BEHOLD, HE IS COMING, says the Lord of hosts.

Micah 5:2  – Prophecy of the Coming Savior

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me the one to be Ruler in Israel WHOSE GOINGS FORTH ARE FROM OF OLD, from EVERLASTING.

Isaiah 7:14-16  – Jesus the Christ – 800+ years Before His Birth

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE AND BEAR a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Curds and honey He shall eat, that he may know to refuse the evil and choose the good. For before the Child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread will be forsaken by both her kings (Israel & Judah).

Isaiah 9:6  – Jesus’ birth and hope

For unto US a child is born, Unto US a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 61:1-3  – Jesus’ job description

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to

–          preach good tidings to the poor;

–          He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,

–          And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

–          To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God;

–          To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion,

–          To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning,

–          The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

–          That they may be called Oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that

–          He may be glorified.

Isaiah 35:5-6  – Jesus miracles

Isaiah 52:13 – 53:12   – 800+ years Before He was Born, 24 Evidences

–          DESPISED AND REJECTED by men

–          There is no beauty that we should desire Him

–          WOUNDED for our transgressions

–          He was OPPRESSED and He was AFFLICTED, yet He OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH; ;

–          And MADE INTERCESSION for the transgressors, etc.

Psalms 41:9 – Judas Iscariot

Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, WHO ATE MY BREAD, Has lifted up his heel against me.

Psalms 22:12-18 – Jesus being crucified (hundreds of years before it was invented by the Romans)

. . . They gape at Me with their mouths, like a raging and roaring lion. I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint’ My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

Isaiah 42:1-4  – Jesus Character

Behold! My Servant whom I uphold. My elect One . . He WILL NOT CRY OUT, OR RAISE HIS VOICE .

Jeremiah 23:5-6

“Behold the days are coming,” says the Lord “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.

These are just a few of “at least 322 prophecies fulfilled identifying Jesus in the Old Testament,” according to Dick Mills, Biblical scholar and prophet. I invite you to find these scriptures and mark them in your Bible!

Oh, yes! The chance that just 25 would come true was 1 in 33,554,432. If one tried to estimate the chance all 322 would come true, would require a number too large to be usefully imagined.
